Well what do you know, it looks like HP are looking to get their iPaq line of Pocket PCs back on the map, with the forthcoming release of the iPAQ 614c and 914c! Submitted by an anonymous tipster, the pictures and specs below show us that HP are looking to bring the fight back to HTC et al with their devices.
First the 614c, which takes a candybar form with a conventional keypad, and an innovative 'virtual wheel' to replace the directional pad. At first look the device reminds me of the as yet unrelease Asus P750. The specs are as follows...
No word yet on available or pricing, but we'll let you know as we hear more! P ![]() -------------------- Paul O'Brien - Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices, MoDaCo.network Founder. Check out my Blog! £10 off a £20 spend at eXpansys - click for details |

Please let the qwerty device be a reasonable size! dash-cavalier size but no bigger would be nice!

Anyone knows who will make the devices for HP ? The 614C looks like the OKWAP K868, produced by a small Taiwan Phone manufacturer -> http://www.phonedaily.com/mobile/phone/?prod_id=2726 They has the same keypad design (num keys also serve as the scroll wheel) OKWAP also has a phone K871 which is similar to 914C http://www.phonedaily.com/mobile/phone/?prod_id=2725 |

914c is a big competitor for the htc tytn II... in fact, I prefer the "always visible" keyboard... lets wait to see final specs and tests because it promises to be great!

There is also a traditional smartphone available from HP called the ipaq 514!!
A simple smartphone device which runs windows mobile 6 standard, a 1.3mp camera GPRS and EDGE, WiFi 802.11b/g with WPA2 security and a TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor A decent upgrade IMHO from the SPV C600 et al, especially for those who want a smartphone device rather than a PDA based device For more info see http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/113173/hp-i...-messenger.html |
