The i600XXGC6 works perfectly. However when I try to install the i600XXGD1, I get some kind of region error. I installed the modem driver succesfully, and the update programm says (after a while of trying different ports) that it finds the modem. Then the update aborts with the aforementioned region error (wrong region or something). Phone bought in Germany, previous ROM was i600XXGC4.

Now I have XXGD1 for EBOOT/PDA and XXGC6 for PHONE. I really want XXGD1 for PHONE, too.

Any ideas?

Delete modem driver
reboot
reinstall modem driver
reboot
connect phone and deactive active sync
flash again with XXGD1

I need some advice. My i600 got ROM i600BVGC3. I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere, so I wonder if it's recent or if I can go for the newest, which I assume is i600XXGD1.

Thanks.

Hi All,

For my i600 which has flashed with i607 rom, actually I won't able to use its user interface within the OS, because it will power off automatically and I cannot prevent it to auto power off. Will there any key combination to stop it auto power off?

I heard that there is a debuy mode on it. By pressing "Power" + "Left soft key" + "Camera" keys to launch the debug mode. It will prompt to press 0 or Space to enter configuration. Do you know how to make use of this debug mode to save the phone?

Thank you very very much!!!

Best Regards,

Martin Wong

FEEL FREE TO TRY!!

For people who has flashed i600 with i607 ROM

(1) Use a samsung D820 cable with Serial Port and plug into your i600
(2) Connect the cable to your PC's serial port (probably COM1)
(3) Install the Samsung Blackjack Modem Driver
(4) Uncheck the "Allow USB connections" in Active Sync option and select COM1 in "Allow connections in one of the followings"
(5) Let Active Sync to search for the i600 and wait for "Connected"
(6) Run the i600 firmware update program as usual.

P.S. please let me know the result.

Do you think a USB to Serial Connector can be used? So we can still use the USB data cable but connect it with USB to Serial connector

A USB to Serial adaptor gives your computer a serial port, it doesn't make the USB cable into a serial cable. A USB to Serial adaptor is only good if you don't have a serial port on your computer.
