Hi all
The link for the decert appears to be down (tried turning my firewall off as well). Does anyone know if this is a problem my end or has it been moved? is this the correct link http://www.developers.orange.com/workingwi...3/04/Unlocking/ ? Thanks -------------------- MDA Vario

Excellent, I have now been able to get my phone de-certified at last. Looks like there was a problem with the OTA server. Tried it this morning and it worked first time.
Now I am off to fill um my memory card ! Thanks Guys Visor |

I tried all ways: Installed AE, the action lock is runing, but the phone stays mysteriously unregistered after dozens of attempts in all the ways.
On OTA, I do not get a message telling my IMEI is not registered, so I assume it might be registered as well (?) Yet, I tried dozens of time to unlock it through this OTA with all different ways (+4178xx, +41 78xx, 078xx) but nothing, no message coming on my phone. The funny part is it used to working very well back in January 2002. I sent an e-mail to developers, and they replied back with an app called "security.exe" designed for my IMEI, but I can't install it as this app is not digitally signed!! I replied explaining them, but am not getting their answer... Anyone has a clue what I could do? My phone is logged on Orange Switzerland network, and it runs the 1.6 Swiss' update. -------------------- Sun is shining, weather is sweet.

You need to explain to them the actual rom version you are running.
The security.exe file is the application unlock app for your phone it will not work on any other phones. -------------------- 3 mobile where the words "customer" and "service" only exists in the dictionary

I tried all these, but still no luck until I checked the imei number. The number on the box and inside the back of the phone was missing the last 2 digits. So get number by typing *#06# on phone and use that one there will be a extra 2 digits on the end, should be 17 digit number on box and under battery only shows 15 numbers (sim unlocking only needs first 15 numbers( mine was missing 01 at the end). Never had to use country code just entered phone number and it worked

QUOTE I have used a new way of app-unlocking, as I now have an O2 sim, and the Orange website method no longer works for me.
towards the bottom of this page on coolsmartphone there is a link to a file. Look for heading: I have an SPV / E100 / E200 - is there another way? The instructions are not 100% accurate though with regards to where to put the files: You need to copy the Shortcut to IPSMwindowsstart menu. Then on the Phone, you will see the "Disable Security" shortcut under "Programs". click on it and you are done. Very quick, easy and totally painless!! Does anyone know if this works on the C500? One of the reasons I am waiting for the SP3i is that the whole unlock thing seems overly complicated. If I could unlock a C500 with a simple download I might need to think again. |

5 minutes of your time. -------------------- 3 mobile where the words "customer" and "service" only exists in the dictionary

I've tried to get the unlock throught the Orange developer website and despite having activated my GPRS and tried entering the number in numerous ways, it doesn't send me anything. I've also tried to use the unzip file but my phone won't allow me to drag the files to the phone from my cv drive!! Any ideas? This is driving me mad!! |

Yes, they will send you an app that will remove the security. Do expect up to 10 days for their answer though.

I'm tryign to decertify an Audiovox 5600 (aka C500). I've gotten a Passthrough-link up and working, but now I'm having problems running the Orange Register application. I've installed it (from my PC, using the download-able EXE), but when I try to run it from the Startmenu, it loads briefly and then exits.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I can't get the program to stay open. Any ideas?..... Anyone? Thanks so much Raven |

The Orange site is only designed for the Orange range of phones and will
not work correctly on the Audiovox due to Rom differences etc. -------------------- 3 mobile where the words "customer" and "service" only exists in the dictionary

Unfortunately that application is not legal, it was stolen leaked from Orange
so linking here or in PM is not allowed. If Audiovox make a ROM update they will probably revoke this application so it will not work. This is what Orange did for E200,C500. -------------------- 3 mobile where the words "customer" and "service" only exists in the dictionary

Okay, well I contacted Orange directly and they sent me the following:
QUOTE Hello, I have attached a Security Level Setting application targeted specifically for your phone with IMEI ################ Please unzip this application, connect your phone to your PC, and run the application on your PC. It should install a "Security Level" application on your phone's Start menu. Run the Security Level application, select the desired security level, and press Action. This should set the security level on your device, allowing you to run applications on the device. If this fails please check that the IMEI you supplied to us is correct and respond to this email with the correct IMEI or detailing at which stage the failure occurred. A High Security Level corresponds to the security set by factory defaults. A Low Disabled Level corresponds to the security set by the web-based Certificate Security Disabling procedure (formerly called Unlocking). Once you set the Certificate Security Level to Disabled, you can use the instructions contained within the following article to do privileged application development on your phone: A Practical Guide to the Smartphone Application Security and Code Signing Model for Developers http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....us/dnsmtphn2k3/ html/smartphone_security.asp Kind regards, Olivier Orange Partner Programme Will the program work if I try it on my SMT5600? Or is it orange-only, somehow? |

It will be designed for the Orange ROM but there is no hard giving it a go as the securities will be similar.
As it has also been written for your IMEI if it works it will do so only for your phone and no others. Hope it works -------------------- 3 mobile where the words "customer" and "service" only exists in the dictionary

ok this seemed like the ideal place to get some advice.
i havent had my phone for very long and was eager to install more games into said phone which was fair enough. i never wanted to do a hard reset as apparently you lose things from your mobile so i app-unlocked my spv using the orange developers site as in the one posted above and it worked fine so i installed boxy pocket, blocks and bubbles. that was fine until a few days ago when my phone crashed.....turned it back on and tried to play bubbles and it said the game never had a valid security certificate! so i went to the orange site and tried to unlock it again and it never worked! does anyone know whats happened and could they maybe help me? much appreciated!
