1. No 2. Yes - SKTools and AgendaOne Check in the Application Data folder if there are any XML files for those apps... You may have a pre apptodate version installed. -------------------- |

Not sure why the 'Free and Fun' caption now appears, separately from 'Up to Date'. If something appears under F&F, does that mean it's an older version? Google Maps appeared under the new heading the first time I ran AppToDate, so I updateded it. The version installed is a newer build, however, Google Maps still appears under the 'Free and Fun' heading.
It's a bit confusing -- ideally, there would be just 2 headings -- one for Up to Date and another for New Version Available. Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the purpose for this new heading? New version of ATD released! P |

Hi -- I started using AppToDate and love it. Was wondering why it doesn't see Resco Explorer 2008 for Pocket PC (v7.03), as I'm running v7.02?

An oversight by Resco I imagine! I've raised it with them...

S2U2, S2P and S2V are all listed as supported apps, yet I have the latest version of all three installed and none are showing up within AppToDate... I think that's probably because they are being tested... I've released (with A_Cs permission) AppToDate supporting versions of S2P, and S2V, but the S2U2 cab isn't working fully yet. A_Cs builds do not contain AppToDate. My AppToDate versions are here: http://www.freewebs.com/l3v5y/ATDCabs.Html EDIT: AppToDate is on that list for convenience only... Links to the official AppToDate download. If anyone wants me to (help) add AppToDate support to apps, contact me and I'll be happy to do so! Trying to clear out some space on my device and in checking on large files, I was surprised to find that the apptodate.ico file was a whopping 133K!? Other icon files, like netcfg.ico, setvolume.ico and googlemaps.ico are between 17-33K, so I'm curious why the big difference, especially since these files are installed in main storage and not on a storage card?

The .ico contains 128x128 and 256x256 image formats - uneccessary for pda. You can remove those image formats with a tool like IcoFX. The one I made up is only 14.5k. link 64x64 is used for VGA devices This post has been edited by Skunkchild: Jul 25 2008, 11:13 -------------------- |

I have a problem with phoneAlarm Pro 2.05.87 and Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7.1 in AppToDate
Both programs are installed (stated versions) but AppToDate keeps telling me there's a new version available. The new version however, has the exact same versionnumber as the version installed. Even if I download and install the new version via AppToDate, it keeps notifying me of the "newer" version. Is this a known problem and is there a solution to this? |

The developer can't have updated the XML in their CAB properly, or the online referenced version is incorrect. You need to tell the developer!

Free and Fun section disappeared. Did you remove it in the newest version?
An app is never shown as "out of date" although it is. It's always "up to date", it updates the version number entry to the most recent one but it was actually never updated/downloaded. Could the reason be with AppToDate or rather with the app? Thanks gordic |

Does AppToDate support ROM downloading for ROM updates? Yes. With ROMs that can be flashed from the memory card. (Kaiser ROMs with HardSPL are a good example) -------------------- |

Yes. With ROMs that can be flashed from the memory card. (Kaiser ROMs with HardSPL are a good example) Well, how can I set this up so that I can add the AppToDate OEM into my ROMs, and enable my users to download future ROM upgrades?

Not sure if this is the place for it, but... I've got a thought. The solution to one of Windows Mobile's biggest problems.
ROM updates are great and add many features, but are often hard to locate. However, AppToDate provides over the air flashing. I believe we should push to have HTC and other makers, and even Microsoft themselves, put AppToDate into EVERY ROM, either set up to check for ROM update's weekly or something or you could sign up for an email with each new one. This would mean that updates were sent easily and with minimum fuss, and available in one place. And, since every phone would have it on, many more developers would be likely to support it. It would quite possibly become a standard for Windows Mobile software. In the long run, perhaps it would be possible to create something similar to the app store, but that's not as important. I'm sure Paul would be perfectly happy having AppToDate used like this. I think we should work to try and make it a standard part of Windows Mobile |
