Well, I didn't find anything that swept me off my feet. I feel that this is just a HTC Cruizer on steroids with a new touch interface. If the rummored Raphael does not materialize... Without a slide out keyboard... I don't see how this Diamond can compete against the Sony Xperia X1.

I think it's safe to say it's not meant to - that would be the Raphael, will obviously will appear at some point, just not today.

The "Diamond" is just the poster boy for this new Touch line, the most cuddly and consumer-facing arm of their WinMo line. The Raphael (or Tytn III if they call it that) will be all hard-nosed business, taking the best from the Diamond and putting it in a more feature-heavy suit.

Reading the blog and a photo posted in there? Was that an X1 or the HTC equivilant? What was the name of that device?

Arne seems to have gotten an early hands on with the XDA branded Diamond and posted a long video of TouchFlo 3D here: http://www.theunwired.net/?item=videoview-...le-professional

Sure it looks pretty; but as it's an HTC device, prepare to get pissed on from a great height when the device actually hits the market.

The Kaiser looked damn great at first too, until it'd been out for a couple of weeks...

The HTC website says "GPS GPS and A-GPS ready ". Not sure I like the sound of that. Could mean IF you add a Bluetooth GPS receiver.

The O2 version shown at http://www.theunwired.net/?item=photoview-...onal-smartphone doesn't have the fancy pattern on the back, and it does say "O2 Germany confirmed that there will be no difference to the final design". Strange decision.
