"The update is for HTC TyTN II devices, and will be followed later by a AT&T branded update."
Any idea how long "later" might be for AT&T? Or when new Tilt units will have it already loaded? My current PDA is objecting to its last chance encounter with concrete and is a bit twitchy... If AT&T will be selling them new with 6.1 soon, then I can hold on for a week or two and avoid some fuss and bother, but if it is going to be months then I might pull the trigger sooner... Thanks! |

Just to share my experience with this ROM.
I have the HTC flavor of the Kaiser, prepared the phone with a Sprite Back-Up and the flashed the ROM via the downloaded file. My intial thoughts are very positive, phone is way quicker and the boot up times IMHO are vastly improved. The good news is that the version of BB Connect (4.0.0.100) works just fine ! The back up made via Sprite will not load correctly, so its back to square on on the installed app's side although add & remove via Windows Mobile Device Center speeds things up nicely. The update seems to have sorted the issue I had connecting to my router (Woo Overall, very pleased, thanks Paul for the heads up, seems that trip to the US a few weeks back may pretty useful on all fronts This post has been edited by Retronana: May 22 2008, 06:32 |

Joy of joys! With this ROM I don't seem to have the Activesync-syncs-on-days-it's-told-not-to issue! Lie-ins at weekends are here again!

Hi
Can you help me...? I've got an HTC branded TyTn II and I want to uprade to the latest ROM (version 6.1). I was told that the new ROM has the TouchFLO interface built in - is that correct? Also, what do I actually need to download to make this seemless (there are two ROMS - the one in this thread and the other in this thread [TLR Kaiser 21.05.08])? Finally, how do I backup mu current content (Contacts, Notes, Word Docs etc). Thanks for your help in advance? Cheers James BURNSNET |

No, there is no additional TouchFlo over the standard ROM.
re: backup, it's not generally advised to use tools such as Sprite etc. between ROM versions. Copying off to your PC would be the best bet? Struggling to download this. Everytime I select downloading via the 'free' method it keeps saying there was an error (with no explanation).

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but on T-Mobile with a Vario III, this appears to have a negative effect on the radio - I'm struggling to place outgiong calls sometimes, just geting 'failed to place call' type errors or even nothing at all happening.

Thanks Paul
Anyway to add 'full' TouchFLO to the version 6.1 ROM? Cheers James |

I've installed the update on my t-mobile Vario III, and I'm generally quite pleased with it. Only one small problem, the internal GPS doesn't seem to find a signal. Has anyone else had the same problem? Do I need to mess with the default settings?
Cheers Dan |

Nah, just give it a good view of the sky for a while to get your first fix. Do NOT touch the settings!

hi, anyone tried the ROM on a UK Orange HTC TyTn II? I had a quick read of the posts but haven't seen anyone who has tried & succeeded.
If you upgrade will everything continue working, i.e. GPS, Wifi, 3G, etc? Does it still have Mobile Office & apps which are normally standard? If you backup all contacts & appointments using Activsync, will the updated ROM recongise them when sync'in? Thanks. -------------------- "A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila"

Just installed this rom to my T Mobile Vario III...like the update but it seems to have made the touch screen with or without the stylus a bit sluggish...seems to be a delay when using it, like it needs to wake up? I can be pressing the screen with the stylus and nothing happens for up to 5 seconds..
It was fine when it had the official T-Mobile ROM on it - anyone else with the same problem? Thanks.. TB |

I've not flashed a Orange phone, although on the HTC standard handset I can confirm the following: Contact - Appointments re-sync fine after the 6.1 update, all the data that was on Outlook arrived on the Kaiser untouched. All my data setting transferred over fine, in fact the issue I had with my router have been solved by this update. All Office Mobile apps still intact, added addition of OneNote Mobile on 6.1 This post has been edited by Retronana: May 23 2008, 06:57 |

So if anyone else has the same problem - refllash! Not sure if the problem was related to using Vista to do the initial flashing or not... Hmmn
One disappointing thing about the nested texting, is that I cant seem to mark a text as unread! I use this feature all the time, ie read a text and if its something to act on later would mark it as unread to remind me to look at it later! The item is greyed out on my phone! Help! TB |

The official update is finally available on HTC's website!!
You guys might want to head over to XDA-Developers should you bump into any problems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394360 Although I've downloaded it from HTC, I've not personally installed it yet, as I'm still in the process of taking backups of my device -------------------- Girls are like phones.
