It's not flawless yet, particularly the non working WiFi (with the shipped card), but it's pretty damn sweet!

From what I have read, there are folks doing all sorts of wrapping up of drivers for OSX. So maybe.

There's obviously linux drivers, as there's a linux variant, so that gives us hope I think!

Paul, thanks for your help via email over the weekend.
I'm not going to go into a huge rant, as I will get angry again... but PC World screwed up. I drove a round trip of 2 hours to find that they had sold the laptop which I had reserved. Not a happy bunny AT ALL! So much so, that I wrote a very lengthy complaint to them, which I do not expect to be given any attention at all. I'm considering contacting my partner's aunt in Germany, and getting her to ship me the Medion Akoya netbook (at least the wifi works with OSX on that one). Anyway, thanks for the help ... I'll update you all if/when I get one! -------------------- --

Yeah, that looked like the only downfall, the 9" screen. Same res as the Advent though.
Oh and I couldn't get the YAWJULY08 code to work @ PC World. -------------------- --

I would quite happily take the Aspire One or the Advent but I need 4 hours battery life for it to be useful. Anyone know whether the One is going to have an after sale battery or when and how much the Advent/MSI high capacity battery will be on release? Otherwise it will have to be the EEE 901. |

Or failing that how heavy is the charger for the One and for the Advent/MSI. If they were ultra light weight like the Apple ones the lack of battery life wouldn't be a problem, but I am fed up with even my 'ultralight' 12" laptops coming with a charger that adds a kg to the weight I have to carry.

Slightly off topic, but I'm looking at an ITX mobo using the same CPU. How are you guys finding the speed of the processor? Particularly playing back video and using flash?
TIA, Rob |
