So what benefits will this give me if I flash my V1615? I'm intrigued, but not sure I want to risk flashing work's phone just yet!

Hmm, tempted to try it. I have become a little addicted to ROM flashing recently and yours seems to get reasonable feedback on xda devs.
One problem I have with a lot of roms on xda is that there is always something that has been changed that I don't like, e.g. the task manager is changed when the original one was fine for me. This one looks nice and simple so i could easily install what I want. If you could make it user customisation capable, this could make me even more tempted!! |

I'll look into that, I like simple ROMs too, so this is a perfect starting point. I'm not familiar with UC yet though.

So can I use this on my Vario III? Is it better?

Of course, and of course!
I've only used it on a TyTN II, but it will work on all Kaiser variants. Any requests for the next recipe welcome too |

May I ask what the extent of the Voda branding is on this?

No Voda branding, I used the Voda core and the HTC OEM, so it's all the nice HTC stuff!

Excellent, I reckon I'll give this a go, as it sounds like just what I want, a nice, up-to-date, and more importantly clean ROM

Wow, this sounds mighty tempting. Bah, I'm not sure I can be bothered to re-install all my stuff...
You can use sprite backup to go between ROMs can't we. Is that possible going from 6 to 6.1? This post has been edited by lozzd: Feb 21 2008, 22:01 |

You might want to check as I think I remember reading on xda that it doesn't work between different versions of WM. I might be wrong though For restoring stuff like contacts, text messages, etc., I use PPCPimBackup which if I remember correctly is freeware and works between versions For restoring apps via cabs etc., UC is great which is why it would be good if it was added to this rom It can also restore settings such as registry entries which is what I am trying to get my head around at the moment! Bah. But part of me thinks its good to start afresh. I would like to keep my text messages though, so thanks for the PPCPimBackup suggestion. I might well give this a go next week if it turns out to be a lot better than the WM6 ROM. Someone else with a Vario III try it please

How do I find out what size the pagepool is on my ROM ?
Is it possible to have a pagepool larger than 32meg (wonders if it would be of any use anyway) Cheers |

Is there any way of backing up the existing ROM (or obtaining an exact image) before taking the plunge with this new one....?

There's a reconstructed T-Mo ROM on the same site as the one above, although I've never flashed it myself, but AFAIK it works fine

Check back often as I add more cool CABs! RE: original T-Mobile ROM, you won't want it, but it's out there anyway.
