Device(s): Samsung SCH-i760

I am using a iMac.
My phone is the Samsung SCH-i760 from Verizon
I have downloaded Wisbar Advance 3, Wisbar Desktop, iContacts 3, gCalc 3, PocketNester, and tgfldllsp50e

The problem I am having is that none of the above programs will install on my new phone. I get the error message "...is not a valid Pocket PC application." Some of the CAB files will run, but none of the EXE files will.

How do I fix the problem that I have caused.

Hi,

This sort of sounds as though you may be trying to run the .exe installer files on your device. Is that what's happening?

The .exe files are meant to be run from a Windows desktop, they won't work on a Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone. They should install fine as long as ActiveSync is connected. If you can't gain access to a Windows PC, your other option is to copy the .cab file to the device and run them through the File Explorer.

I'm not sure if iMacs have any software to install Windows Mobile apps, like ActiveSync.

I hope this helps.

I did get access to a Windows PC and was able to install all of my programs. Thank you.

You're most welcome! smile.gif I'm glad you got the programs installed.

As a side-note: The application developers are usually able to provide you with a .cab file either via their website, or upon request via email. They may also call it an "Over The Air" (OTA) installer. This may be useful if you don't always have access to a Windows machine.

Cheers. smile.gif

This situation is a pain... developers do need to be aware that they need to be Mac friendly biggrin.gif
