Hi All,
I have finally got my i900 Omnia, yesterday. I have manage to sort most things out now, got all my contacts on the phone, dorted my email accounts and Wi-Fi settings, got the internet working fine, and all in all fingers (and any other body crossing part) crossed I'm impressed. However... I can't for the life of me get the GPS to work, at all. In anything, even Google Maps. Can anyone tell me what settings I should be using in the External GPS option. ( Program, Hardware, Access). I have searched various forums and it seems everyone is different??? I also have a WM6 version of TOMTOM, that I have tried, It boots up fine, and even has the 'Waiting for Valid GPS signal...' but then nothing happens, I've stood outside, blue sky for over 5 minutes and it just says 'Poor GPS Signal'. It shows 9 dots on the Compass, but no signal at all. So I wondered if the settings in External GPS were wrong? I've even tried it with GPS Gate as stated in a post on this forum, and I just get the same, using GPS Gate and on its own. I have no idea how some people are stating a GPS signal fix in 10 seconds, indoors?? Any help with regards settings/GPS, would be most welcome. -------------------- Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

Leave the external GPS settings as they are, then what is set in Program is what you use in your application.
If it was wrong settings, you wouldn't even get 'waiting for valid gps signal'. Be more patient for your first fix! Have you also downloaded the GPSxtra data using the settings applet? Thanks for the advice, I'll try again and be more patient. In the case of GPSxtra data, don't really know what you mean, it that on Enhanced GPS icon???
I clicked on that but it said something about this will incur an extra charge, and needing GPRS, didn't think it was relevent. I didn't know it would cost me to use my Sat Nav!!! -------------------- Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.
