Hey guys well had the eee pc over a week now and I must say I love it, it came pre-installed with xp.
My problem is I'm doing Unix,Linux, and X course at Uni and use linux alot to connect to my linux box at uni, run apps and files off there(xterms, pre bulit menus... etc), so I'm looking to install linux on my sd card. only problem is i have xp apps also installed onto the card like vb, komodo, eclipse and much more so i really cant start a fresh. so my question is can i install linux onto the sd card with out losing any data and it not being a live cd so that i always have a up to date system, or would it be easier just installing vmware and putting a linux client on there? also if you do recommend installing linux onto the sd card to share the space, is there any guides to install a advance-ish os on sorta like ubuntu or something that will work with all eee drivers? |

I;d say go for a virtual box, to be honest though why not just ssh into your Uni boxen? Is there a specific reason for needing a local OS install?
