Hi,
Just bought a eepc and obvs its on the linux os, i was having trouble connecting to the wireless router and so rang sky my IP and they said they do not support linux os and so i would be unable to connect. Im guessing there would be a way around this without the legnthy process of changing to an IP that is compatiable but can somebody point me in the right direction please. Cheers Carl |

I take it nobody knows the answer? is it a case SKY once again screwing people over that dont conform with the norm?
I know they only support their own email addresses as i had to buy an smtp server to send mail for my business. its a shame i quite like the simplicity of the linux os and it would be a shame to have to stick xp on it. |

Well I know it's custom firmware but it's still just a Netgear router isn't it? (Well, mine is anyway). I would expect what Sky mean is they don't provide customer service for Linux, not that the router can't do it. Have you tried googling for setup instructions? You might be lucky and find that someone else has had the same problem.

well ive managed to crack it somehow? I simply stuck in an ethernet cable from the router to the eee and went online to asus downloaded all settings updates which included a wireless pack and then went into diagnostics in settings and tested all including the lan and wireless and which of the combo worked it i dunno but im online and writing to you now from it!
