 o2 speaker problem

Hi my speaker stopped working recently after inserting and earphone into the earphone jack blink.gif wondered if anyone had encountered this problem? and if so how they resolved it?
Have tried soft resetting the device.
Sound is audible through the earphone but not the speaker and the phone fails the audio self test.
Any help or comments appreciated
