A friend has recently purchased a HTC Touch Diamond, he wants to stream 1Xtra radio programs. Is it possible? I know little about WinMo devices myself, so can't help.

Thanks.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the new version of iPlayer will allow you to download shows on your PC and then transfer them across to a suitable media player, of which I think the Diamond might be one.

Haven't actually tried it yet myself.

BBC iPlayer doesn't yet support Windows Mobile or Symbian, but there is a way to get BBC Radio streams to a WM Device.

Your need to install RealPlayer Mobile from Here

This is a standalone Real Player program from where you can open streaming links via the Open Location command.

The Beebotron has some links to BBC Radio feeds including 1XTRA. You can either copy these links to the PPC, or use a 'copy link' and paste into a notepad file from where you can copy into the Real Player Open Location address bar.

Be aware that this will hammer any data bundle smile.gif

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass the info on. Much appreciated.

You can do as suggested above with URLs.

There are some sites online that offer direct URLs for radio station streams, both in WM and Real formats.

A while ago I compiled a list of some UK radio stations and BBC news streams by looking through the code of their online players and managed to get the direct URLs, I'll dig it out and upload it.
