here is a little tip for using punctuation in your new topic posts.

example 1 - asking a question

say for example you need to find out how to get your shiny new phone unlocked, and you prefer not to pay for it

something like unlock C500 for free is a statement, and people will look at your posting thinking that you have free unlock magic for C500's

a better subject would be can i unlock my c500 for free?, the observant readers would have noticed the little question mark at the end of that, the question mark does exactly as it says on the tin, marks a statement as a question.

we move quickly onto what makes a good subject

here is a example of a poor subject heading Beersoft is stupid!!!!11!!! this may or may not be true, and unless the posting is a rant about something stupid i have said or done, it doesn't help.
other examples of poor subject names are (and why they are rubbish)
JAVA - java what? beans? script? midlets? add some more words to the subject to help us out

HELP!!! - ok, this is just vague is it "help! my cats stuck up a tree" or "help! im running out of beer and there is a que at the bar and the bell has gone for last orders" or "help required installing X game on Y phone"

unlock needed - unlock what? the front door? the safe? application signing on your phone?, or the network lock? just a few more words help quite a lot with this one.

before i dismiss the class i just want to go over the use of the CAPSLOCK key and the bold tags, having your subject in CAPS JUST MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID and subjects like b]URGENT UNLOCK MY E100[/b looks nice doesn't it (its phpbb, it doesn't bold subject titles) so save those keypresses and make your subject meaningful

ferret,

you haven't locked yourself in the house again have you? the outside doors open in, not out

and have you still got both your mittens? and your hat? and your wellys because there will be no playing in the puddles without your wellys

The next thing you'll expect is for people to read what they've written before they hit the 'submit' box :-"

Lets face it, for some, the words in their head never, ever, reach the page 8-[
