Max size for sd card?

I noticed the MPx220 can handle mini sd cards up to 512mb. Is there a limit to the size of card the 200 will recognize? There are some really good deals on 1gb sc cards now, and I have storage envy:)

actually yeah.. and actually its more then the 220 could handle. I was surprised at how the 220 doesn't handle as much as the 200. the 200 is reviewed by various sites and said by motorola to handle sd cards up to 1 gig! MAN THATS A LOT! yeah it defiinately can do 1 gig and theres tons of great deals on 1 gig cards lately so hey you might as well go for it... unless your a broke college boy like me :cry: ... however performance wise, i would assume smaller cards will have quicker access, I can be wrong though.

the mpx220 sd card limit is misinformation. I noticed this on an official publication a few months ago and queried it.

There is no limit on the size of card the phone can handle.

It seems that motorola think since the 512 is the biggest mini sd card available that they need to say on the info its the biggest it can handle :/

the same thing was said when the original spv was launched with a different size mentioned

Hmm... don't know bout the speed though, but I'm using a 512mb SD card. The speed seems to be the same with my 64mb MMC card. So I don't think that the size affects the speed...

Talking bout space, I have been using this 512mb SD card for over a month, and no matter how much I try, I can't fill it up!!! Too much space!!! hahaha...

i think that there is a slight speed difference between sd and mmc, but we hardly can notice it. and about the size, i don't think so. but i have read somewhere that the miniSD consumes less power than the original size sd. if your the type of guy who like to watch movies or trailers over your phone then i think you should get the 1 Gig. capacity. but if not, like Otacon said its is really hard to fill up the 512mb.

Yep mini SD does use less power which helps with battery life

As for SD and MMC, SD cards run around x4 faster than MMC and
are more secure and stable.

I have a 1 gig SD filled to the brim with music. I listed to music on the phone for several hours a day, so it's nice to not have to load new mp3s every day.

1 gig of mp3, wow, i think you can even listen to musics for weeks without the need to load for new mp3's.
