First post here. Read through several pages of the forums prior to posting so if this has been answered here already, I apologize in advance.

Just got the mpx200 and love it (old phone Nokia 3650). I have been trying (in vain) to set the phone up to check e-mail. Followed the directions from another post on this site, entered all the settings correctly, and get an error message stating that the phone is unable to connect.

I'm having the same issue with trying to get on the internet. It works well when I'm synched to the PC via the data cable, but won't make the connection wirelessly.

Is there a certain service, or level of service, that I need to have with Cingular? I've attempted to upgrade my MEdia basic package to the full package via Cingular's web site, but it won't let me. I get a message asking me to call Cingular.

I don't want to call Cingular if I don't have to as this is an AT&T branded, but unlocked phone.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

it seems that your having trouble connecting thru GPRS, have you made all the correct settings under "data connections"? and also ask your service provider if your GPRS service is enabled. biggrin.gif

this link always points to the latest document for Cingular's settings. Everything you need to know about Cingular's settings is in this. Now, how to put that in your phone... how familiar are you with the phone itself?

Also, unless you have CSD and/or GPRS enabled, it won't work.

Hope this helps a little...

Thanks for the responses. Dumb question, but if the icon appears for GPRS on my phone, does this mean that it is enabled?

I will attempt to plug in the setting from the reference sheet posted above. Thanks again.

This is the same problem I am having with my phone. Whenever I want to connect to GPRS, the G icon appears on the Icon Bar. But then it always says that it failed to connect.

Sigh... I want to use GPRS, but can't....

call and verify you have WIX. My phone showed the G but I couldn't connect. I jerked with all the settings. So I called and they confirmed they hadn't enabled WIX Pay Per Use on my account. They did, and everything has worked since.

yup, if the "G" appears on your homesreen, your GPRS service is available. but of course you have to manually input the right gprs settings under data connection for it to connect properly to the internet. and maybe this would help, use your networks exact gprs profile (expample:"cingular wireless internet" or "cingular wireless internet express") instead of "automatic" under data connection>internet connection and wap connections. hope this would help you guys. biggrin.gif

I have already done the settings down to the dot. Do you think it is because of the WM2003?
