hi All ,

I have a question regarding the SP3 (C500) stand by time.

The manual "says" that the stand by time is about 140 Hours. However with usage of GPRS, Bluetooth or tinkering with the device one should expect less time. well my SP3 bearly completes 24 hours after which I have to rush and plug it in the charger :!:

taking into account that I do not talk alot on the phone, maximum 30 minutes total and I do not use GPRS at all and bluetooth once in a blue moon, it seems that the battery is faulty.

is any one facing this problem ? any comments guys ? and if it was a faulty battery, is there some sort of "high power" battery that one can buy to last long?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have a dodgy battery :?
Standby you should have between 3 to 4 days.
To get the best out of the battery you need to fully charge the battery so it shows 100% and then do hard reset on the phone.
Li-ion batteries should always be topped up so never try to fully discharge it otherwise you can damage the battery.

I checked the hard reset procedure in the SP3 manual:

• Go to “Start | More… | More… | Accessories | Clear Storage”.
• At the prompt, type “1234” and press the “Yes” soft key.
• Follow the on-screen instructions as the device reboots

I am just wondering is this the hard reset meant by the message above? I tried the procedure in the link, holding down soft keys 1 & 2 then pressing the power button but nothing happened.

is it possible that the hard reset procedure for SP3 and C500 are different? or I should keep repeating the procedure until it works?

thanks

This is not really a proper hard reset as such, since the E200 there has
been this method and the "true hard reset". Clear storage may not help improve the battery life unlike the manual way by powering off and pressing the soft key buttons etc.

ok guys I am back.

well, nothing seems to work.

I did a manual reset, and charged the mobile while it is closed for 15 hours but no effect. I am pretty sure that my battery is not functioning as it should be due to some manufacturing error or some kind of fault.

Just to compare the types of batteries with other users. my battery is a Samsung battery, model: ST26A and Rating of: 3.7 V DC & 1050 mAh.

is this the same battery with everyone here having SP3/C500 ? is there any high power battery available for SP3/C500?

thanks again everybody.
