Is it a Sandisk wifi card?
if so try here: Sandisk Drivers Page -------------------- Life is a question of wanting what you have not having what you want.

they aren't for smartphone.
That drivers are for PPC and smartphone are different. I contacted SYchip (they make the SD wifi cards for smartphone) and i get no answer. If you loke here you can see : http://www.pocketpc.ch/viewtopic.php?p=34999 The wifi sd cards are working with the drivers. But no one has them ??? |

Thanks for that.
The page is in german, but the rough translation is that the drivers are beta releases from SyChip, who manufacture the card. They have not been released to the public, nor have SanDisk released their branded ones. The card seems to work well with the beta drivers, and (from what I can translate) did not have a HUGE impact on battery life. If anyone can find and post\host the beta drivers (within an NDA policy), i'm sure there would be a few more sales for this card Now all we need is Niveus Pocket Remote to be coded for the SP, and we'll be laughing! |

Why would anyone buy anything based on an article about beta drivers, especially on the msmobiles site, that may or may not actually exist? These alleged drivers have been mentioned for months now and I have yet to see anything downloadable. If I were you, I'd look into returning the wifi card until some kind of driver not only becomes available, but is proven to work and work for more than 5 minutes without crashing or frying the phone or card.

QUOTE(sx125 @ Jan 12 2005, 10:52) yeah your right but i got the first alpha drivers, but i think they don't work, so i think they are actually coming That file is just a setup application and doesn't actually drive anything. It made the rounds here months ago and fooled a lot of people. You should also make sure your phone could even deal with an SDIO card, should there ever be a compatible wifi card with supporting software made available. The mitac 8390, for example, specifically states that it will NOT work with an SDIO card. Is that because there aren't any with compatible drivers or because of hardware that simply won't work with such a card? All I can do is guess and that's not a good enough answer. |

Lots of things are coming - wether they wil come before WM2005 with built in WiFi support is another matter. To buy thge card before drivers out does seem a tad strange.
