I have an SPV C500 with the Latest Orange ROM 4.1.1.4 and I have to keep turning the phone off and on to release memory. When I switch it on Xbar says I have 55% memory used at the end of the day after starting up programs and so on it goes up to 80-90% used.
If I then use Xbar to kill the running tasks the memory remains at about 80% used. Where has all the free memory gone? Is anyone else having this problem?? Anthony |

Don't tell me, you use xbar 2.4? And you haven't read the thread in the software forum? The one which says xbar 2.4 leaks memory which is why they've bought out 2.5?

QUOTE(Confucious @ Jan 14 2005, 14:20) Don't tell me, you use xbar 2.4? And you haven't read the thread in the software forum? The one which says xbar 2.4 leaks memory which is why they've bought out 2.5? Well, I am not using statbar and have see the same. When, just after switching on, I look at the amount of free memory, I have approx. 9,5 MB free. After a couple of games, TomTom and/or movies/music it is around 6 to 7 MB free. (offcourse after killing all running apps) And, allthough I didn't really pay attention to it when it had the phone for a couple of days, it seems like it is present on the phone before installing any 3-party apps. |

I've switched to Xbar 2.5 but the problem persists on my phone..
I have a hunch that it might be the Batplug plugin I use in my homescreen that's causing the drain.. dunno though.. -------------------- First: Original SPV (Canary) > then: SPV-C500 > then: Qtek 8310 and HTC Wizard > then: HTC S710 > Now: Apple iPhone :)

I got it too and i am not using any funky plugins or programs. I just work the phone (mp3s, gprs, calls, sms, jawbreaker etc).
Then i use taskmanager to close all apps, but the available memory doesnt reach its peak (after a soft reset i got about 9 megs, after working the phone i get around 6.5 or so). -------------------- SPV C500 with 256 Megabyte Mini-SD card and NOKIA HDW-3 BT Handsfree
