1. Copy \Storage\Application Data\iTAP\iTAP_UAD.dat file from smartphone on local drive.
2. Run program from with one parameter (iTAP_UAD.dat) to view content of your user dictionary or 3. Run program with two parameters to update it with new words. First parameter - iTAP_UAD.dat. Second - text file with your words. One word per line, duplicates will be removed automatically. If file iTAP_UAD.dat does not exists - it will be created. 4. Copy file back to your phone. Right now tool works only with american english. If you have any other language available on your phone - upload your UAD file with at least one word in you language in this thread and I will modify tool to support more languages. Is you have any problems then before upload I would recommend close all programs on smartphone. This post has been edited by shoora: Mar 4 2005, 10:12

I am sorry if I bother you with silly questions, but I am a newbie with smartphone and I am not so good with pc!
I downloaded the tool and copied from my smartphone the UAD file. Now what should I do?!? I don't understand the meaning of "run the program with one or two parameters". what should I do exactly?!? sorry for my stupid questions... |

Hey,
here's a Dutch/Belgium version! great program. hope you can put it in a bit more windows like style though thanks for the effort you've put into this! BTW I already added some 30 words to the dictionairy and it works great so don't know if there are any mods you need to make for different languages? DicE

Very handy tool !
Is it possible to port it so it could run in the smartphone itself? Anyone know anyway I can add words into iTAP while using the phone? Thanks. |

how do I reset my English iTAP dat file?
I think mine is corrupt because I can no longer add any new words into it using iTAPtool? But each time I run the tool in DOS, it says I have added, and the number of custom words grew... however, the itap_UAD.dat filesize remains unchange? is this normal? |
