... and i've been able to listen to Windows Media streams using C500's Windows Media, via GPRS Internet and at a reasonable bitrate. I'd also like to listen to .ogg, .aac, .mp3 streams... is this possible? How?
Many thanks! This post has been edited by ciudatelu: Mar 8 2005, 15:10 -------------------- ![]() |

www.shoutcast.com
right click the link for 'listen' and do a 'save target as'. Stick it on your phone and play it with beta player. As mentioned, GPRS cant really go above 20 or 30 kbps afaik. And this costs, too! Through bluetooth you can get a good 128kbps (mp3 quality). |

I think he means to save the file on your PC first and then transfer it over to the phone.

That's Excellent ciudatelu
There are some great stations on shoutcast too. RoVal1972, on the right side of the shoutcast screen limit the bandwith to 24kbps and then right click on any 'tune in' button and use 'Save as' to save the .pls file to the PC. Copy the .pls file to the SD card and open it using betaplayer. You might have to first start a GPRS connection (small G) using Internet Explorer as Betaplyer can't seem to open GRPS connection on it's own. You can play some of the higher bandwith stations using the pass through connection |

QUOTE(ciudatelu @ Mar 9 2005, 10:46) Hi Ciudatelu ! Could you tell me how you did it ? with Beta Player ?! I tried and nothing happend. With Windows Media Player worked. What about GPRS costs ? I am wondering because one month ago a choosed to pay a monthly fee to Orange for WAP with no limits and no other costs for traffic. Usig this type of connection via WMP or Beta Player are there any other cost ? Do you know anything ? Thanks again ! V. |

QUOTE(RoVal1972 @ Mar 25 2005, 22:37) Once you open the .pls file in Betaplayer you should just get a blank screen for short while (approx 10 seconds) before the streaming starts. If you get an error for connecting then try using another radio station link.

You can find lots of internet radio stations and schedules for shows with links to streams that work on mobile devices such as smartphones at http://www.radioshowlinks.com/ including some of the most popular talk shows from public and commercial radio.
