I have the SPV C500, and a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth car kit.

Unfortunately I have had to revert back to my trusty old Nokia phone, as the C500 seems incapable of working well with the car kit.......

Whenever I make or receive a call, it all seems ok to me, but the person I am talking to will always complain of a bad echo, hearing themselves shortly after they speak.

Has anyone else experienced this???

It happens to me sometimes when just calling.. wondering it is me or the other person; can't tell...

Might also be the network?

I used to get the same problem too, the other person wouldn't be able to hear me and I would have to hang up and redial. I put it down to a bad network.

I returned the carkit last week after 3 months use. The problem I had was with the voice dial feature. After the ignition was turned on I was only able to make 1 voice dial. Any further attempts after this failed. Pressing and holding the Nokia button didn't do anything, the phone ignored it. The only way to get it to work again was to turn the ignition off/on or re-pair the devices. Do you also have this problem ??

I've replaced the kit with the SE HCB-30. Voice dialling works OK now BUT only if the phone is unlocked. This is no good as I like to leave the phone in my pocket or bag. And another problem I discovered earlier, when a call is received the stereo isn't muted and the carkit doesn't ring. So if the handset is on silent I won't know someone is calling me. It looks like this one will have to go back too.

I have that problem to using HCB 30 and spv 500, the radio does mute for about 1/2 a socond then unmutes for 2 seconds and continues to do this while phone ringing All i see is telefone flash up in dash and the subs power down and up. I suppose you could fit a cap to the mute wire to increase the delay or a pulse relay

Does anyone have any experience using the C500 with the HCB-3000 Kit? That's my next option.

I've also read the Parrot kits work with the C500. Can anyone confirm this?

well, I haven't used it in anger, so I can't comment on the nokia button.... I never use it anyways. Although I do recall it not hanging up calls as it should.

every phone call suffers from the echo, so I doubt the network. as soon as I transfer my sim back to my nokia, its all fine :|

Its a real shame because this is stopping me using my spv, I don't want to have to change the car kit, and I just am not sure what to do.

My dealer told me that it is a commonly known error with Nokia Bluetooth interface. It seems that Nokia doesn't comply to the standard, thus causing an echo when used with other devices.

i got a CK-7W in the car and get horrific echo with my S100. I messed around with trying to cover the mic on the phone cos i thought it was the phone keeping the mic active whilst on handsfree and hearing the sound thru the car speakers and feeding back etc...

had varying degreees of success but never got around to actually putting the phone in my pocket to see if that helped...

I have the HCB-300 car kit with a C500 - i have problems where the phone just loses its connection. I have been told that this is probably due to the version of Bluetooth that the C500 uses. I also have a Sony Ericsson K750 and this works perfectly with the car kit.
