I'm curious about this one - lots of people complain that this phone or that phone doesn't have BT - does everyone actually use it?

if you could include examples of what you are using it for I'd be really interested

(never used it myself in a non-testing way)

I voted no as I don't use it everyday. Only time i really use it is to send files to friends phones although i'm looking into getting the new tomtom when it arrives so that could change things

Definately every day. I use USB in the office for active sync but bluetooth when I get home. In the meantime, pottering round the city center, having fun with bluetooth...

Oh, and almost forgot... when I'm in the car.

I use it for both my handsfree headset and my co-pilot GPS receiver. There is teh odd day that I don't but I use it for these most days. I don't use it for sending files but would if I needed to. I used to have to have my GPS receiver in the sameplace as my iPAQ (because it was a sleeve) and this meant it couldn't be used in my partners Picasso bacause of the windscreen heatsheild. Now I can put the BPS unit on the back shelf and see the C500 screen on the dashboard.

mine is always active... i'm generally chatting with people on the other side of the office when i shoul dbe working.... very cool for sharing files, folders, movies etc so long as the other person has full speed bluetooth availabe,

its also funny when you're sitting on the train and the phone beeps and tells you someone you know is nearby... this happened last night, stood up and my best mate was sat 2 seats down... yes i like bluetooth

I've used it to transfer photos between phones in the pub a few times and actually got ActiveSync working at home once, but I now make a point of not using it
There's yet to be a killer application for me though BT stereo headphones are going to be a must when they get small enough.

I kind of made it a point of not using it also. I had it set up to work with activesync and it did work but after I rebooted the computer and forever more (until I killed it), activesync would whine about the port not being available and if it didn't hang completely, it would ask if I wanted to remove the port. I suppose it's because I had bluetooth on the phone turned off but, funny me, I like having a reasonable battery life. So I ended up disabling it in activesync meaning there was little point in using it on the phone. I figure maybe I'm missing something someplace but I work at home so it's probably not worth the hassle. Still, it's nice to know that if I need it, I have it.

My major use is in the car...I use several phones and BT means I only need the one phone holder in the car...would not want to be buying new car kits for every phone!!!

I also use it for file/picture transfer to/from the PC or mates phones...and MobiLuck to send messages...and GPS every now and then...

I use it for CoPilot GPS, Car kit and ActiveSync. I've never used it for transfering files between phones though (maybe I ought to start smile.gif )

here's an exotic use for you - to stream CCTV onto my mobile phone, so I can watch it from anywhere in the house. GPRS doesn't have the bandwidth..

doubt I'll do it much but I wanted to prove it's possible. Most often I listen to shoutcast stations downstairs (phone plugged into amp, obviously), syncing outlook, surfing the web and using msn away from pc (freedom keyboard).

so yeah, bluetooth quite useful. wink.gif

Use it with my Jabra headset and CoPilot Live GPS, all the time. Occasionally use it to transfer files to another phone.
