Here's a naive question.

Went to web page of Think Outside. When I checked for products that fit the O2 Xphone II it came up blank. But check for i-mate SP3i and a couple of products appear.

How different are the variations on this phone?

I would LOVE to know that myself. Hardware-wise the phones are identical except for a couple of labels and some paint changes. Software/ROM wise, I have NO idea.

Interesting, things are listed under SP3 but not HTC Typhoon or Orange C500!

I don't know why they should be compatable with one and not the others but if they say they are not compatable you won't have a leg to stand on if it doesn't work!

Email them and ask if you are thinking of buying from them.

Good idea, I'll get their answer & let you know.

Just discovered the Think Outside page has its own forums, with a few questions like mine (for example, one about the C500). My question here is the first O2 Xphone-specific one.

You're right but that's probably because it's not widely available. In fact I think it's only available in the Australasia - where are you from?

A brief follow-up.

I've had no response from Think Outside, despite starting a thread on their forum over a month ago. Looking through their threads suggests that there are some difficulties with the i-mate SP3i as well, despite that you can download a driver for the i-mate (unlike the O2).

A pity - I'd really like to get something like this working.
