I just got a SMT5600 and I really like it! So much better than my Moto v551!
Two questions: I can't browse via OBEX with my Mac (running OS 10.4), it says unable to browse. I used Tweak 2k2 to enable OBEX and my V551 can send files to it without a problem. There doesn't appear to be any way to send a file from the 5600 via bluetooth (???) so I can't verify 100% what's going on but it seems as though OBEX is partially enabled. I can't use Smartione to edit any keys in the registry at all. Programs run without giving me the app lock error and both Tweak2k2 and Smartione say I'm unlocked now so that shouldn't be a problem. If someone could give me a .reg file to import into my phone to add Cingular's ID, that's really all I need - this is an unlocked ATTWS phone, by the way. So far, so good though... I don't care much for the directional pad thing and the buttons are hard to press with one hand (I have big hands) but it's 1000% better than the V551! I'm hoping to pair my headset with it when I get home and see if I get better range - I would normally get about 4 feet before it started to drop out, but only when I was holding the phone. If anyone has any ideas on this, I would appreciate it a lot! |

i dont have answers for you but i just got mine as well and have another quick question..
is there an easier way to lock the keys than to push the power button and choose 3? its really slow with the power button involved.. maybe i can assign a shortcut to a couple of keys or something? |

I'm going to try it some more but it seems as though something isn't getting completely unlocked. bshadfan: press the call end button for 3 seconds to quickly lock the phone. I poked around on my Mac's bluetooth options and while the SMT-5600 supports "OBEX Object Push", my V551 supports "OBEX File Transfer" AND "OBEX Object Push"
It seems odd that there isn't any (apparent to me at least) way to send a file via BT on the 5600 and that the OBEX isn't very complete. And for whatever reason, my registry is unable to be written to by Smartione but PHM Registry editor works just fine. I had the same problem, but you can export the reg entries, edit, and then import them. -------------------- Current Device: T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur)
