My phone wont charge no more, MOTO said my warranty expired, and it will cost 90 bucks to fix it. i dont want to pay to fix it, and im too scared to open my phone.

After numerous hours of messing with the phone, i notice that the phone has 4 pins where the battery goes, and the batt has 4 mettal tips where i guess the phone coneects to. I also saw a +(possitive) and -(negative) near those pins and tips.

my question is,:

can i just connect the charger(after i cut it and scrape it) to two of those pins,or directly to the phone?

will the phone burn, or will the bat explode?

i really want to try this,so ANY input from any of you guys is greatly apreciated, and if it works i will write my experience on it,so maybe we can make this a sticky, and over come the BATTERY CURSE,lol, thanks

It's not advisable to do what you suggest as you would be bypassing the safety device that has already failed ie the internal fuse.
You would be better off looking for a stand alone charger or try and repair the phone by replacing the fuse.

Yep a charger for the battery. I do not know of a shop selling them offhand though.

*

it might - but I think you probably knew that wink.gif

(aside) Has anyone considered the possibility of a fuse in the line of the charger cable? (/aside)

I am assuming that this is a fuse in series with the charger, and if so, this would have the same effect. Finding out the blow value and whether it's slow or quick (I'd guess quick) could be a challenge.

Just a thought.

does anyone have any information on where i can get a new fuse, how much it costs and how to fit it. I too have a phone that wont charge the battery, and cant go on buying endless batteries to keep the phone running.

Im interested in the standalone charger...I saw one on these forums somewhere, but couldnt get one in the UK.

Any help atr all?
