Bit of a delay in publishing this (family stuff) but its done now biggrin.gif

"The Chainpus BGP100 Bluetooth gamepad is the first serious gaming add-on we have seen for Smartphone and when I say serious, I mean serious…this baby weighs in at a hefty $99 but don’t let that put you off. It comes in a variety of colours (black, white, grey and blue), is adjustable to fit most phones and is compatible with Windows Mobile for SP / PPC and Symbian devices."

What’s in the box:
Gamepad
Driver CD
1 x AAA Battery
Lanyard (wrist strap)

$99? That's ridiculous...

Think i'll stick with my PSP for serious gaming, C500 for casual on-the-loo gaming wink.gif

Oops, did I share too much? wink.gif

Should we compare the price of this wireless pad to other wireless options that we have available for other platforms.?
If one was to do this then in comparison this is prob more than twice as much as it should be.
The seller must be from another planet where they dont do market research.
One where no one has a limit on their credit card.
It hasnt been stated that this will work with a PC either, I would be interested in finding out. Not that it would give me incentive to spend £50!
I got a really good Saitek wireless PS style PAd for less than £40 and its analogue and has all sorts of programable functions for my PC.
I am going to send a list of other gamepad manufacturers to the creators of this device and let them look about @ what the else the Market has to offer.
If this goes down half price, Ill have one.
I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this. There are so many SNES games I want to play in Morph gear on my Magician but the controlls are to funky
I need this.

GPS Mobile Phone: Motorola A925, 168 MHz, 32 MB RAM, 256 MB SD, Tre (Three)

Well about that symbian sh*t to motorola :) Tre (Three) was "giving" away phones at a cost of 67$, no more costs, thats it 67$ and no more. The best phone they had was motorla A925, so i bought it. I think i will use it as a GPS unit :) Becuse it have inbuilt GPS :)

So does this support multipress? If so, you've basically got a Gameboy colour + NES + whatever emu you've got installed on the phone. Not such a bad deal really...

In the review, one of the pics shows the config screen, the style and menu of the windows folder looks like WM2005, yet the pics of the phone/pad are of a C500.
Is there some kind of secret WM2005 rom for the c500, or did the reviewer just use the developer emulator for screenshots (which I doubt, as there is charging symbol and there is a radio signal which is lower in 1 frame).

Anyone care to shine a light on this?

I thought that, but then realised the screens are prolly from a WM2005 emulator on the PC (tis easyer to get screen shots)

we can live in hope tho

hmm seems there is a ROM but its internal and may never be released

tis gonna take all my jedi powers to find that... tongue.gif

now then, just because I think it's too pricy doesnt mean I dont respect the massive amount of effort chainpus go into to produce this stuff. Ages I waited for them to release a driver for the mpx200 on the sk6688a IR keyboard. I didnt see anyone else rushing to support it?!

Plus, they were behind the freedom keyboard which I use religiously and was worth every penny of the £75 or how ever much I paid

Chainpus are good people..so lets not slag off their products too much. Bring this device down to the £30 region and I'll buy one, sure.

Must admit, this looks really great. At £50 it is a little over-priced, but in such a niche they are free to charge whatever they like really.

If a new version, with an updated design (for me this looks a bit old fasioned and geeky) and is priced at nothing more than £39.99 then I would consider getting one.

Keep up the good work.

Does anyone know if the gamepad solves the SPV c500 multikeypress problem? (I know it was already asked but nobody knows / cares to answer.....)

I reckon it's quite important that we know this since if it does colve the mkp thingy, our spv c500's would instantly become the master gaming devices....

However I must admit already mario 1 / 2 / 3 are playable, you just have to use the * key wisely with the joystick and excersize on the coordination :-)

Hmmmm I've check the clickgamer site and I couldn't find the discount you're talking about.... Only price I found was 89.99 USD without games......

And also still wondering if the thing would miraculously solve the multi key press issue...... that would be such a *HUGE* reason to but the thing.... Can't we mail the company that makes these things to get to know this one essential all-important piece of info?

it says so in the review that its solved (multipress) wink.gif

QUOTE
A quick browse of the gamepad configuration tool will allow you to map the gamepad keys to emulate those of the phone (except power). Once you’ve connected to the gamepad, mapped the keys and started playing you favourite game the way it should be, you’ll start to notice one huge difference…the gamepad supports multipress! Although it looks like a 4-way d-pad, you can still go diagonally, so in essence, its 8-way! Obviously Chainpus know a bit more about Smartphone users than HTC do.
