There a a couple of remote programs that 'work' with M2000.

The reason I say 'work' is that the IR on the M2000 is not strong enough to make the remote usable - you have to hold it no more that about 1 metre from the TV, which means you could just reach out to the TV and press the buttons anyway.

i used pdawin a couple of months back, i was pretty disapointed when i found out that i had hold my xda IIs 1cm from the tv's remote sensor.

is there no way to boost the infared??

hello all,
er... maybe i'm missing the point here, but isn't the orange spv m2000 a mobile phone device ? if you wanted a tv remote control thingy why not use a er... tv remote control thingy ? next you'll be wanting mobile devices to contain a mini microwave eh !

I'm with justsomeoneelseagain. Now it's a TV remote, next thing is people wanting their mobile phone device to be a sort of PDA phone or something... wink.gif

That's silly though. If you didn't want a phone that you could tinker with, why did you ever throw your Nokia 3310 away? If we didn't demand Microwave ovens in our watches, technology wouldn't advance! [/rant]

..maybe designers should concentrate on getting mobile phones to actually work as phones before trying to develope the handset into something else ? tunnels, the underground, in the countryside and other blackspots etc... how about having phones that work in these places before having such 'gimmicks' as cameras, mp3 players, game consoles eh ? surely that'd be more useful ?
