 c550 cant sync music

Hi all

got my c550 yesterday copied over some wav files using explore in active sync ok then tried to sync some wma's with no luck wmp 10 on my pc starts then aborts after a few trys says it dont recognise phone. this is going onto the 128mb card it came with, thought that might be the problem so tried storage on the phone with no luck. also tried drag & drop the tracks via activesync again it trys then stops. ive soft reset loads and deleted activsync partnership and created a new one...please help dont know what to try next

I have a problem too, i have managed to sync a couple of wma and mp3 over onto the memory card through wmp10 and i have also draged and droped thro explorer, but most of the time now only part of the file goes over, or get file aborted.

im using actice sync 3.8 i am think or trying the older ver that came with the phone.

Deo have you got a card reader for minisd? have you tryed copying them over that way? i dont have a card reader for minisd so can't try it sad.gif.

please has anyone else got any other ideas?

I have just spent the last couple of hours trying to get my phone to sync with my pc using bluetooth and i have finally got it to work(i never had bt working on my computer,didnt have time to play about with it before now!) so i decided to try and decert it as listed here http://www.modaco.com/INFO_Decert_SIM_Unlo...50-t222786.html. after i did this i could copy exe thro explorer with no problem so i tryed one of the wma i was having problems with and it copyed over with no problems.

so i have fix one problem BUT now i can not get my phone sync'd thro usb anymore and wmp will not sync thro bt!

oh well :roll: one step forward two back tongue.gif

I have exactly the same problem. I have completly removed activesync 3.8 and installed 3.7 from the cd that came with the c550. I have also removed WMP10 and reinstalled the lateset version downloaded from microsoft.

I too thought that the problem might be writing to the minisd card as I also have problems copying large files to the c550 (copying a 100mb avi file fails, but after i wrote the file to the card I can then copy it off the phone, without any problems.)

Yes we can copy the wma directly to card but not only is this a hassle but then I cant use purchased music on my phone!!

Has anybody got any bright ideas. I am going to try a fresh install of activesync and wmp10 on my wifes pc which is running xp home not pro. I will let you know how I get on (Im not holding out much hope :cry: )

No joy with the wifes laptop, wmp10 still not syncing. I dont know if its relevant and pehaps some of you with the same problem can check, but when I copy a large file to or from the c550 using explorer the progress bar on the copy & paste dialog resets to zero several times before finally copying the file. It looks as if file transfers are timing out!

If anyone's interested I have had no problems copying mp3's onto the C550's storage card using WMP on Windows 2000 !

Hi there,

I'm having the same problem - syncing with wmp10 just seems to hang there half way through the first file. I've tried copying files across manually, but nothing seems to happen. Tried it to the "storage card" and the main "storage" bit.

Has anyone managed to figure this out yet? I'm currently left without being able to get any music onto my new phone. :-(

BTW.... has anyone contacted orange about it?
