 Texting not working on c550, after SpriteBackup tranfer of c500 setup

Today I upgraded from a c500 to a c550...but it struck me this evening that I'd not had any texts on the c550.

quite biizzare but option 1 (messaging) on the first menu does absolutely nothing !!

if I select a contact and highlight the txt number and select action --- again nothing

if I select the messaing icon on th orange homescreen -- again nothing

Can someone confirm that the c550 does text and that they can use all three ways to text.

p.s. anyone use sprite backup to restore a c500 backup to a new c550?

[edit: a clear storage has solved the problem....looks like I'll need to avoid using sprite backup to restore a c500 set up and load programs and data the hard way]

lol that is bizarre i can confirm that i can text all three ways! id get on the phone to OCS or do a "clear storage"
