Hi everyone ,it's cold_fire here . As some of u may have noticed i like designing (if the word is apropriate) homescreens .Today i had an idea ,i wanted to see how much u like my homescreens ,and i was surprised ,here are the results :
I posted so far a total of 209 files of a total of 958 files (in Homescreens section) ,wich means i created 21.816 % of the files . The total number of downloads in this section was 414024 ,of wich 14487 were my files ,meaning 3.499 % of the total files downloads . (the infos were taken today 03.08.2005@16:44). It may not mean much to you ,but notice that it is something i like doing ,and i'll do it as much as my time allows me .Thanx to MoDaCo u may share my homescreens . |

Aye, you certainly have been busy.
I think some of them are cool, however a few seem to be just backgrounds with not too much thought as to where the plugins are. Only downside I can think of really is that some of them have the wrong text colour, e.g. green text on a green/dark background, making it difficult to read. |

First of all ,thx for your thoughts and advices .I do not like to use to many plugins as that would mean the image to be less seen ,and in my opinion the image is what brings style to the homescreen .On my PC as well i do not like a "busy" desktop full of shortcuts ,the colors on some themes may not b to well chosen ,but if the .xml file is provided the homescreen can be totally changed to suit the user's needs .U know it's impossible to please everyone. Thx again !!! |

Have you considered taking homescreen designing to the next level by doing a complete phone theme? It's much more rewarding to see all of the screens related to one another.
-------------------- Browse files in WM2002: FileDialogSP DLL (As used in PicoDrive)
My theme: Transformers Decepticons (Dreamwave Style) (Peace through tyranny!) Phone history: Nokia 8210, Nokia 7650, Motorola MPx200, Vodafone QTEK v1605 (HTC Hermes 200)... |

I totally agree - I'm not going to belittle the efforts you've put in to creating your homescreens, but theming a phone should IMHO be about changing the whole layout rather than just the standby screen and perhaps the missed calls screen. There are a lot of your creations that I think perhaps would look good if they were expanded on, and maybe that should be the next step for you?
Regarding the homescreen layout, IMO it's all down to personal preference. From looking through various threads, I get the impression that most people are still preferring to use the basic layouts (albeit with small tweaks etc) - but my themes never use this, instead I like to put different plugins in different places so they fit the theme/ images used. I guess what I'm trying to say is well done on the quantity (and indeed the quality) of the screens you have created, I'd just like to see more of each -------------------- |

OK, I'm not one for artistic impression, or even usefulness. Just keep putting the scantily clad fit girls on my screen and I'll be happy!
Cheers Cold Fire. -------------------- I love deadlines.
I especially like the noise they make as they go whooshing by! Current toy: MDA Vario 3 (Kaiser) with 8Gb MicroSD card and my own WM6.1 ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383158 ) Being joined by a Qtek 8500 (it was too cheap to refuse). Can't see the standard ROM lasting more than 24 hours when it arrives... Previous toys: MDA Vario 2 (Hermes), SPV M500 (Magician), SPV C500 (Typhoon), SPV (Canary), some other phones before I saw the WM light!! :) |

Well,
I have to agree with Greef there, it would be nice to see some more variaton and additions of plugins instead of just changing the backdrop. Now, of course you can't please everyone, but some variation never hurt anyone Keep up the good work Cheers -------------------- |
