Hi

Just curious, is there any way to also use the slideout keyboard as a phone pad, in portrait mode? i.e. pull it out, stay in portrait, type in the phone number, close it again and call. would be quick and handy

It would be but all the numbers would be sideways. Best thing I've found is to pop a screen protector on and get the fingers on the screen. All the numbers I ring are in Contacts so it doesn't make much difference to me

This worked for me too, its also worth investigating the voice dial facility - this is probably the first phone I've had where the voice dialing works consistantly without selecting random contacts when I try and use it.

Completely agree, the voicedial is the first one that I have found it is really coming into it's own, that and you can link it to program activation as well. Only downside is I can't get mine to link a voice tag to the memory program for when I need to clear it out.
