So my new residence (Cambridge, Boston - USA) gets pretty poor GSM coverage and I'm all but ready to switch to Verizon. The only problem -- Verizon's selection of Smartphones is pathetic!

I'm a current c500 user and I love having a smartphone. The only smartphones I can find on Verizon though are more PDA-esque (Treo and co.) which are too large and clunky for my purposes.

So my question is, will we ever see these SWEET new compact-smartphones phones (Tornado, SP5, etc.) on Verizon or Sprint ? Has anyone heard anything about this?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't count on it. Both carried the Samsung i600, which didn't do as well as the PDA esque style ones. So I don't think they are planning on carrying any again soon. The Samsung i730 is pretty incredible though, I really love mine on Verizon. I would have never thought I would switch to CDMA, but here in the US it is the only way to get high speed cellular data.

Sprint have/are launching the PPC-6700 (Pocket PC - HTC Apache which is a CDMA version of the Wizard running WM5) and the Nextel i930 (a Motorola device running Smartphone 2003se)
