 HELLOMOTO screen is all i get

Hi, i just bought a motorola MPx200 from ebay brand new in the box, used it for 2 days then all of a sudden it rebooted and now i cant get past the hellomoto screen, could anyone help please? i am using the original software that came with the phone (2002)

Try doing a hard reset. Turn the phone on while holding the blue center button. You might have to reboot the phone several times to actually get into the OS, I've found this in 2 mpx200s.

Ok thanks i have done that but now the phone wont even power up. Any ideas?

Is the battery charged ok?
Otherwise try the hard reset again.

Try taking out the SIM card, then hard reset.

You have to be REALLY patient. After a hard reset the phone takes what feels like an eternity to boot beyond the HelloMoto screen!

Lots of people have this problem with off-brand batteries, if yours is off-brand; You might consider a replacement. If not, follow the hard-resetting advice. It takes like 10mins to get off the 'HelloMoto' screen right after you reset.
