Hi all, first post here... been lurking/reading for awhile now though.
Well here's my problem: I installed ActiveSync 4.0 in hopes of being able to use Com 19-20 for BT Synching, but now I can't even sync via USB either. When I try to sync this is what pops up... ![]() I'm able to access the phone via Windows Explorer to transfer files with no problem, but I can't sync (which is more important to me). I've tried everything from reinstalling 4.0 to uninstalling 4.0 and reinstalling 3.7 (The version that my SMT 5600 came with). When I tried to plug in the phone via USB with 3.7 installed the ActiveSync window won't even pop-up. The system tray icon lights up green as if everything is fine... but I can't initiate a sync, nor can I go into the settings to see if something is wrong in there. I went ahead and upgraded 3.7 to 3.8 and it had the same symptoms...ActiveSync wouldn't pop up for me to use! As of now I've reinstalled 4.0 so at least I can move files back and forth. But as I mentioned above regaining the ability to synch is priority #1 for me. I've CTRL-ALT-DEL'd any applications that I think would be conflicting w/ ActiveSync (Google Desktop's E-mail notifier, Anti-Virus, etc) After all of this I still can't sync over BT either. The phone connects to ActiveSync (green circle in ActiveSync 4.0's window), but the progress bar never moves. I've done some searching and tried almost everything I could find; from disabling a firewall (I don't even have one, and the WindowsXP firewall is disabled), short of doing a hard reset on the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated! |

If you have Windows XP or ME: Try a system restore point before you upgraded to the new ActiveSync

Just finished the System Restore and everything is all good! This post has been edited by zyphaz: Nov 17 2005, 04:55 |
