Just seen this fantastic bit of software but cant find a working link for a download.

http://www.wmplugins.com/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemID=564

Anyone seen this around and or knows where to get it?

Is there any other remote software for windows mobile 2005? Ive seen that the Benq p50 can be used as a remote control for your tv or anything, is there something similar to this for WM2005???

thanks

Can not be done. IR on Smartphone is too weak. Do a search in this site to find enough topics that cover the issue.

But there is such a software for Symbian based smartphones (Total IrRemote). Why is it a problem to create an analog for Windows Mobile2003 Smartphone?

That is not the problem, but read your own reply

It's hardware related.

Great Tech but it has been about six months you've been saying that now hasn't it? And you've not explained how the IR hardware is compatible for you but not for all the other developers who tried!

only my second posting but reading through the lines here and elsewhere it seems as though my lovely new SPV C550 although fantastic is outclassed by something called symbian.
I assume Symbian is just another type of hardware/software mix but in many cases , ScummVm , Mame , Infra Red these Symbian things seem to be a lot better especially as they actually work lol.
there must be something going for smartphones as the features included and those I have downloaded to the phone far outstrip the equivalent costing Nokias of the current time. I paid £129.99 for mine just before xmas and got a host of wires and a 512mb memory card free.
The nearest nokia to this was the 6230i which though a great phone , doesnt have any of the exciting features this beast has.
My G/F has just bought a much more expensive 6680 and even that doesnt seem to come close.

just after xmas my phone dropped to £99 from Orange and they have released the C600 now I believe.

Even though I am a little envious of these slightly better Symbian phones I am overall quite pleased with the SPV C550 and at the end of the day I will be getting myself a GP2X quite soon to satisfy my craving for mobile emulation. Im chomping at the bit to play Monkey Island 1 on scummvm like those lucky Symbian owners.

So Far I have tried

SPVInvaders
PicoDrive
Pocket Snes
SmartNes
FuseSPgnuboy
PocketHobbit
and something Ive not yet used called Pocket TV

I tried to Find Mame but it doesnt seem to exist for my handset, and I tried to install a version of ScummVM which almost works but crashes instantly.

I have just noticed an Atari VCS emulator as well yipee.
anyway what other recommends do you have for my phone , I suppose a fair few of you have had one for a while now and have a good understanding of it all whereby I am still getting used to it.
Any other emulation software that I have missed or any essential progs I cant do without.
I love films , Music , Games , Ringtones (even Midi smile.gif , and emulation

I reckon an amiga emulator would run crap to be honest though it would be ace to have one.
I would like to have a blast on the likes of Scramble and that on Mame.

I upgraded to this phone from my trusty and great Nokia 3220 and had a few great games on that , is there a way to play some of them on this Farm tycoon being my G/F favourite. I did try using the java midlet or whatever its called but it said the .jar file wouldnt work on this phone or something.
Anyway cheers for any help in advance.

@Lindopski, Pocket Scumm is what you need (there's a Windows Mobile version so Symbian owners don't get to have all the fun wink.gif ). I enjoyed Monkey Island I and II all the way through to completion, amazing to think the games I used to adore on Amiga are now in the palm of my hand!

thanks for the reply pondrew , but I have tried pocket scummvm already and sadly it wont work on my SPV C550 , weird really as it loads up doesnt fill the screen and also the cursor doesnt move in fact no key does anything once I have the half screen scumm interface up.
maybe there can be some tweaks made to the ini file ? Im not sure.

Strange. Are you running the latest version? I hadn't heard of compatibility problems on Windows Mobile 2003SE. And even if it wasn't QVGA compatible it should still work properly. Make sure you read the readme for the controls...

all you need mate is the latest version of active sync that is available from microsofts own web site, the emulators and stuff on modaco work well on a SPV c550 as long as you get the correct ones , find the versions by parallax as his all work on the 550 masterall has done a load but they just quit back to the home screen when you run them , even if you download the tgetfile thing.
