 ROM upgrade for T-Mobile SDA smartphone, Seems they forgot to add the actual rom

T-Mobile Germany released ROM upgrades to SDA and SDA Music smartphones

Finally us SDA users get the upgrade for wma 10 but low and behold when you go to the site

and click the link to download

you get nothing. I guess they either got rid or they forgot to sort the link out cause if you look at the url there isnt anything to download just .zip :cry:

If anyone has downloaded the update or can shed some light please help.

Well I managed to get my hands on it and im happy so its all good. I can see what the fuss with wmp 10 is all about. 8) Nice upgrade and will tie me over til i upgrade my sda but me thinks not the sda II cause it dont have wifi does it??

Nope no wifi on SDA II. It's actually just an HTC Hurricane like the SPV C550 but with a different shell.

Hi agent.m,
I also managed to upgrade my SDA rom from T-Mobiles German site, all seems to be OK but obviously all references to tmobile.de had to be changed to the equivalent UK setting ... One thing thou'... I seem to have lost all references to "WAP NETWORK" in any of the pop-down menus ( only MMS network - Work - The Internet options are available) and don't seem able to re-create it... hence I cannot use any of the WAP facilities that rely on connection thru WAP NETWORK connection including MMS...
Did you have any problems with these ???

Hi chaps can anyone who has got the new german ROM to work on their english SDA guide me through it please?

When I try to run the updater I get the error message "ERROR [212]: FILE CREATE The update utility can not create the requested file. Please check your update utility"

I've read something on the SPV developers forum about some NBF tool thingy and have downloaded that but don't know what to do with it!

Any suggestions?

Ok so I eventually got this working. Apart from the fact that I stuffed up backing up my texts and so have lost them all :x I'm glad I've got it to work. Having WMP10 is great but.....

Using Smart Explorer (from Binarys) I used to cutomise my start menu by cutting and pasting the shortcuts for Jawbreaker & Solitaire out of the 'Games' folder and put them into the Start Menu itself, same with Space Maker/Task Manager/File Manager out of the Accessories folder (even tho I use the Binarys versions of these progs). Problem is now I can't do this. I don't know whether it's the ROM upgrade or the fact that I downloaded a newer version of Smart Explorer but I want more control over my start menu dammit!! Jeyo is fine for ordering the first 7 progs I know, and I do use that as well, but I just hate having folders in my start menu - I want to have it all out front on show! (oo er!)

Any suggestions??

Also I could just be imagining this but my joystick feels less responsive when scrolling up and down menus since the upgrade?? Although it could be cause it's been a long day coming into work on a Saturday.....

Ok ignore the above, although couldn't delete did create a trash folder and move all the stuff i didn't want there instead.

But.... how do I get my T9 to be English instead of German?? Is a some sort of registry edit to get the phone to point to the correct .dll ??

There's a regional settings option in the settings menu. The first option in this is Language so you'll need to navigate there. I don't have an SDA so can't tell you what the shortcuts will be to Settings/Regional Settings...

Yeah I've put the regional setting to english but when I'm composing a text message i still get german words coming up in the predictive text. Never mind - once I've done lots of texting I guess the new words I've entered will push the german words further down the list of suggestions!

i have just found this link and have the same problem. i sussed the internet connection but cannot send mms. have you worked out how to fix it?

So I did this ROM upgrade a wee while ago (still not fixed the GPRS settings tho) but now my back/delete key has broken and I'm sending my phone for repair as it is still under warranty. Question is will I get into trouble for having the German ROM on it - have I invalidated my warranty by using it? If so how can I get the original ROM back on my phone??
