Hi,

The old regedit will not work as the HTC certificate it was signed with has now been revoked.

The reason for this is that it enabled Microsoft's/operator security model to be bypassed altogether, leaving it open to malicious exploits in the future (and also enabled the phone to be 'tampered' with for things such as SIM unlocking, etc).

Registry editing potentially caused increases in support calls from 'not-so-experienced' users messing up the registry and asking for handset replacements.

Cheers,

O.
