OK, so how many people here have actually left Orange to go to T-Mobile (or other networks) because of the new tariffs?

(same poll running on mobiholics - please only vote in one!)

I'm seriously considering it, it's only the lack of good smartphones that is stopping me at the moment....

Wish I had waited a bit longer then gone with T-Mob cause of their tariffs, but ended up going with O2 at the time because the Qtek was only £30 on the offer I found and I desperatlely needed to get away from Orange, I still have a PAYG on Orange but that's only so I can use teh Orange Wednesday's.

I really only moved to T-Mobile because I was really keen on the Vario which Orange wasn't releasing. Having said that, the tariff I'm on with T-Mob is a lot cheaper when it's half price for 9 months of the 18, so I'm really happy i switched. Same here too, I've been with orange for 6 years and they didn't even ask why i was leaving when i asked for my PAC code let alone try and keep me as a customer!

Vodafone because the customer service I recieved from them was really great. Can't say the same for Orange these days.

Was very tempted to got to T-mobile though, with the new data deal I think it might be my next switch

I have been with orange for 14 years. I spend between £100 and £300 per month (about £40 of that is data). I rang them and spoke to retentions. I explained the scenario and they admitted that they could not match the unlimited data plans and could not offer me any worthwhile incentives to stay with them.

Amazing when you consider all of the networks are apparently aiming to retain the higher-spending and data hungry users who will help them recoup their investments in high speed networks.

Au revoir Orange/France Telecom - hello Tmobile.

If Orange release the Hermes at the same price as TMob, at the same time (!), and have an unlimited data plan for £7.50 or less a month, i'll happily stay with them, i like Orange, and will be keeping my "main" contract with them until at least February.

However as soon as TMob release the Vario II i'll be in there smile.gif

Orange have two PAYG extras. Theres a 30 day 4Mb for £4. There is also an unlimited single day extra for £1 3G excluded.

The T-mobile unlimited GPRS isn't available on PAYG but it is available on the SIM only tariff. That's £7.50 a month and included 50 anytime cross net minutes. The unlimited GPRS consumer version is £7.50 on top of that. I'm waiting to see it the 'pro' version can be added.

I know cos I'm on it smile.gif

I noticed on the T-Mobile site they are having 'free' Wi-Fi weekends. Their Network for data access seems very well set up across Europe and it seems to me this is the market they are going for where as Orange seems to be content more with basic Mobile market. When my contract ends with Orange I an seriously considering moving to T-Mobile. cool.gif

Wow! I'm pretty impressed at the number in the poll who have said they've gone to T-Mobile! Hope this means more good things to come from the big T and not just complacency... dry.gif

The thing is, the reason most have moved (I believe) is the unlimited data for £7.50

Now, if they add extra services in future it's a good thing, but the only thing that they can do that would p1ss us all off is withdrawing the data bundle. Compare that to Orange who withdrew loads of innovative services over the last 12 months.

I can't see them sinking as far as Orange did in with customers, because it'll be pretty hard to annoy us to the same extent.

I was thinking about switching to t-mobile here , but will wait because t-mobile here are having problems with the gprs , due to too many people using it in the evening the gprs side crashes , if you have a mc donalds or wifi point in the area then its worth it , but getting a no connection on the gprs is a pain and according to the t-mobile guy they even switch off the data side when the load is too big , more masts are needed wink.gif
