Hi, i have been using an xda mini s since january and must say i am more than happy with it except the size,i have just changed job and find that the xda is a little too bulky,so i have been looking around for an alternative and the SP5 looks to be a good compromise.

Are there any issues that i should take into consideration before making the change?ie dust?
I assume i can run tom tom on the phone (which is a major plus point of the xda)
Any info would be great,it does look a lot smaller than the xda but having never seen one in real life its hard to say.

Cheers

Device(s): MDA Compact IV

I have both devices and must say I prefer the Tornado (SP5, although I have the Qtek 8310). I would recommend the iMate device or better still if you are willing to wait the XDA IQ as the Qtek support in the UK is horrendous at best. Past experience with shoddy manufacturing quality on iMate devices (Feeler or SP3i) would generally push me away from them.

I have not had any issues with dust and yes, you can run Tom Tom on the device. The device is far more practical than a Wizard, it is just over 100g in weight and is not much bigger than a serious business Nokia model.

It's the best phone I have had so far... although right now I have my eye on the HTC Star Trek.

Hope this is helpful.

What reason did you do it?
Mine was simply because of the size and to be honest didn't really use the xda to its full potential, most of what i use on a regular basis can be done with a smartphone anyway.

I'm looking forward to playing around with the SP5 now, can't wait....

Interesting.
I was thinking of changing the other way round.
Thought WIFI on XDA Mini S and bigger screen woud be better and maybe keep c600 for use at weekends.
Have C600 with TomTom at the moment but keep getting problems dialing since ROM update for push email.

Device(s): Qtek 8310 with latest Rom

befor you code tom tom to your new sp5 and what nots apllication unlock it and in stall latest rom update then application unlock it again if you do not tomtom thinks you have installed it on another device and they only allow one upgrade with out proof after that you ahve to proove you own boththe new phone and tomtom.

they accept that doing a rom upgrade and apllication unlocking your phone cuadses your device code to change when installing tomtom how ever what they want is for you to proove you have had it done by sending receipt from the service centre that did it.

they do not send new codes for people who have updated online and unlocked the phone at home, they think we are pirating thier software.

so be warned.
