If like me you want GPRS to stay permanently connected, even after pressing the red end key to lock the phone:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\(GPRS connection name)\AlwaysOn

Just change it from 0 to 1.

Interesting. Same as on the I-Mate Jasjar.

Good to see Windows Mobile 5 tweaks are consistant between Pocket PC Phone and Smartphone devices...

...topic pinned.

Sadly, it's not all good news.

If you want to use your phone as a modem, keeping it permanently connected prevents this. The modem tries to dial up and the connection tries to re-connect and so on and so on.

Also if you had a bad GPRS connection there is no way to terminate the connection (holding the home key doe not bring up a menu), so you have to go into flight mode and back again.

This is obviously not the way the previous shell orange tweak worked sad.gif
