Hi,
A little obvious due to the mAh size of the battery but the specs appear to contradict this:- QTEK 8500 Specs : http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/products/1...00_LFLT_INN.PDF - Battery: Removable and chargeable Lithium ion - Typical capacity: 750 mAh - Stand by: 100 ~ 150 hrs - Talk Time: 2.5 ~ 5 hrs Cingular 3125:- http://onlinestorez.cingular.com]http://onlinestorez.cingular.com # 1100 mAh Li-ion Battery # Talk Time: Up to 4 hours # Standby Time: Up to 6 Days The battery capacity is larger on 3125 although the talk time is less, and standby time the same, which doesn't make sense I'm considering buying the larger battery when it comes in stock at Expansys as my 4 hours travelling per day using bluetooth and CamerAware means I have to recharge almost daily. If the figures above are correct, then there doesn't appear to me much point in the 1100 mAh battery. Has anyone actually owned both of these phones and noticed a huge difference in the battery life, particularly in regards to excessive bluetooth usage? Thanks in advance This post has been edited by paholman: Oct 6 2006, 10:11 -------------------- |

The specs you quote for standby etc take into account the fact that cell towers are not so prevalent in the US so a GSM radio unit has to crank up the transmitting power to keep a good signal lock - as there aren't usually so many towers close by.
When I've used a UK handset in the US roaming the battery life has always approximatley halved. That was 4 years ago though so they could have built more towers ;-) Ignore the qutoed stats for the battery in the specific handsets in different markets and look at the mAh rating. The stats for the Qtek wewre probably measured in a european contry. Richard -------------------- '....It's been out in Japan nearly 3 weeks - where's yours?'

I've had it for 3 months now and it is really giving me some precious standby and talk time. About 16-18 hours more than the original battery. -------------------- The world forgetting by the world forgot.
