[teaser]

It's been quite a day for HTC Athena fans. We've had word T-Mobile are releasing it as the Ameo, some real life shots and now a review of it in it's HTC branded guise as the X7500! This comes courtesy of Russian site HPC.ru. There are alot of nice pictures but alas not much detail. Although they say a more detailed review is planned, which is helpful smile.gif You know what all these previews and reviews mean don't you? The release of the Athena must be imminent!

Now, we've already had a shed load of pictures and info on this device today so again, I wont bore you with the specs wink.gif Just click through to check out the (decent quality!) pics and hit the link further down for a translation of the review...[/teaser]

Indeed, but I'm wondering.....in wich category do you put this thing? To big to be considered a true smartphone and not enough power to be considered a UMPC......A hybrid?

You can get a pretty good UMPC for around 1000 euro. Reckon the Athena won't be much cheaper. Although granted network operators will subsidise the Athena

Damn - you gotta love that screen.

I'm a semi pro photographer and have kept my Universal for the sole purpose of being able to view my photos on a glorious VGA screen rather than having to lug my huge laptop about with me.

So this will definitely be on my list of Easter goodies - 5" of pure VGA goodness. Now just need to check my camera will take a mini SD card with a full size adaptor...

Oh another thought - I notice there are various pics showing the keyboard attached the device lying flat on it, any thoughts as to how this is attached??? (if at all) I hate the thought of having to use a case just so I can carry the keyboard about
