...and now total 'Program Memory' at startup is 51.90 MB instead of 43.87 MB, a sizeable difference i'm sure you'll agree!

I'll report back how the device is in use after the change!

P

PS Forgot to mention, 'the change' is a ROM download / edit / flash, so isn't for the faint hearted!

There's also around 4-5MB of free space in the IMGFS that could hold stuff in ROM without losing out. Even more if you got rid of some of the T-Mo junk (i.e. myfaves for non myfaves users!)

Freeing up RAM is exactly what this does.

Hi Paul. Thanks for the help. I used 6MB to free up RAM. At start up I get about 9-10MB free (50MB total). The amount free gets less over the course of a couple of days, but it is still a huge difference when I want to launch many apps including camera at the same time. I was wondering, since I just joined, if there are other tweaks to free up either storage or program memory. I've already done some edits to registry, like rerouting temp int. files to storage card, and re-install programs directly to storage card. I've been watching Stephens blog (www.mydigitallife.us). He actually lead me to your page pool edit. Anyway, thanks for the help. I will stay tuned to here about IMGFS changes.

Paul, I don't use myfaves. What files are ok to remove to free up the ROM? Would you recommend moving those to storage card or off the phone all together?

Hi, I'm new in Modaco. I've read your tip/trick for the Wing in the iGO2006+ forum on PDAMill.
Do you think something like this could be possible on a Qtek S200/Prophet with WM5?
I've searched the Prophet/Modaco threads, but they only came up with hardreset/softreset etc.

Regards,

Edward
