Hi Peeps!
I'm after some feedback for some CamerAware 3 basic concept designs. For version 3 I want to include more stuff (of course), but I want to make the application accessible, easy to use and not overwhelming, but still powerful enough power the hardcore user. For this reason, I am pondering putting different features on a UI that is switched by using left / right on the pad, with a small area (the alert status) always being visible. Below are some mockups (and they are just mockups that will look much prettier in the real app), but I'm looking for feedback on the idea. Have your say Other items on the UI would include satellite status, add / edit / remove cameras, traffic etc. P ![]() ![]() -------------------- Paul O'Brien - Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices, MoDaCo.network Founder. Though I like the new look...I like the combined screen as well. As much info as possible on one screen while driving would be better instead of scrolling back and forth. But keep them there in case that's your thing. But the addition of a combined screen would be cool too!
Like the log...like the maps. Would still like a non-speed-camera version for those who use the app in other ways. (option to hide? or still different app in the future?) -------------------- |

So where are the maps coming from - do we need to calibrate our own and load them into the app. or are you intending to include them with the app. Very cool if the later, as there are not any similarly priced app that do both camera and maps (as far as I am aware) - I am using Nokia's "smart2go" at the moment, which is great but without the camera alerts.
Decisions - do I want to know where I'm going or if I will get a speeding fine? (can't afford fancy tomtom apps!!) -------------------- |

They'll likely be downloaded OTA as required from Yahoo!'s online mapping service.
It will only be 'viewing location' rather than routing... I should have mentioned that in the case of a red alert, the app will always ping back round to the main status screen for the duration of the alert. So if its OTA that's not the best unless you're on a flat rate data plan. Is there likely to be an option to save previously viewed maps and / or disable the map screen so as not incur unnecessary data charges.

Very nice... I like!
I like the "Passed 30 camera at 25" in the log - VERY useful data. -------------------- - Tony Sutton

CA 4 now, as CA3 has become an intermediary Navizon release.
As you can see, the UI is kinda full, so once the current build is stable, this is top priority! P -------------------- Paul O'Brien - Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices, MoDaCo.network Founder. Check out my Blog! £10 off a £20 spend at eXpansys - click for details |

really like the look of the "multi page" of CA4 Paul, as per our conversations in other threads, the speed should be big

The "Next and "Previous" arrows... make it even more cooler by using your finger to flick across the screen (right to left) to move on to the next page or from left to right to go back a page.
Would make things a lot easier when the phone is mounted and is driving. You just reach out, flick and it's done! -------------------- - Tony Sutton
