OKay,

Ill post this as a question as Paul MVP wont reply to my pm rolleyes.gif

WOuld it be possible to install vista onto a 16gb sdhc card , and to boot from this automatically and use the 4gb ssd for spare space?

Er, theoretically I guess yeah, XP has been hacked to run from SD, not sure how you'd go about doing it tho!
