I would like to use my TyTN II as a remote controle for my Win XP laptop over Bluetooth. I have tried installing Jaylee's bluetooth remote control, which is free and seem to have it all, but done installing, I can't get the server (PC) and device to connect to each other. The webside for this program is http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/
So is there any other solution, or have anybody got experience with this program, please help this total newbie... THX Gregersdk |

THX Gregersdk Yeah, I use that Bluetooth remote you linked to, and it works fine for me. It does seem to be a little finicky at times, where it doesn't connect sometimes or can drop a connection, but for the most part it's decent (esp. for being free). Basically, you need to have the server app installed on your PC, and the controller app installed on your device. Then to use the remote function, you first have to activate the server program on the PC. If you don't do this, the phone will not see the PC as an available server and will not connect. Then, when you start the program on the phone, you'll have to point it to the computer to let it know to use that as the server, and it should connect. Also, once it makes a connection it remembers that connection, so as long as you've started the server app on the PC the phone will connect to it automatically on subsequent uses. Hope this helps, it's a little squirrely to get running at first, but it really does work well once you've got it. Holler back if you have questions or if I wasn't clear enough on something. |

Actually I just noticed that the server application says; "Bluetooth not available".
I have a Dell computer with a Widcomm inbuilt Bluetooth card. It should be supported. So what can I do to make the server app register my computer's Bluetooth? |

So what can I do to make the server app register my computer's Bluetooth? Hmmmm, I don't know, my desktop uses an external BT dongle, and the server app found it right away from what I can remember (I installed it a while ago). I'll check tonight and see if there was anything special I had to do to point it in the right direction. Here's an idea: uninstall the server app, and then make sure the BT chip is turned on when you reinstall it. Maybe it needs to be able to see the chip in order to work properly. |

Actually it seems that the newer version do not work with Dell's Bluetooth cards, so now I am running 0.81, and it works nicely! |
