Welcome to the forum.
I've never had an audio recording in a note pad file but a .pwi file, I believe, can be opened in Pocket Word. So I'd try opening it in word and seeing if you can try saving it from there. No idea if it will work but worth a try. Good luck. -------------------- He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

I remember doing it manually once with a hexeditor. It worked fine but I can't remember the exact position where I did the cutting. But for sure the *.wav is simply embedded there. The trick via MS Word didn't work for me because I had several wav-files in one pwi file and Word coudn't work it out...
Edit: The Wave file starts with the ASCII "RIFF", then 4 bytes representing the chunk length, followed by ASCII "WAVE". Search for it in a Hexeditor and cut the stuff you need out. This post has been edited by zehlein: Dec 24 2007, 12:03 -------------------- |

Thanks a lot for this little app - saved my bacon today - I had to email some audio clips over to a client and only had limited hardware available! My WinMobile phone, a bluetooth file transfer to an old desktop and your app did the trick!
