Device(s): BJII

Are there any bjii wm6 roms out there? If not, would it be possible for me to factory dedault my bjii, then get all my hacks on it, then create a ROM of it that I can use to restore it later? Or am I understanding incorrectly the concept of what a ROM is?

I think it needs to be cooked in a ROM kitchen and then repacked...is this what you mean? You need to dump the ROM first...add what you want and then recompile into an installer (very, very simple explanation as I really have no idea)....XDA Developers has all this info...I have read of a few people pulling the ROM on the i601 and the i607 (previous blackjack) with success but there wasnt much in terms of changes..I think most went to WM6 as soon as they could get their hands on a few ROM's......I am aware of custom ROMS for the orignal BJ....

I would like to see a few custom ROM's for the Blackjack II as well.... If it had better GPS shortcuts and controls I would be wrapped...Even thought he GPS test works well (built-In) and I use Garmin XT for Navigation I really would like to see it taken apart ( the ROM) and really opened up. I purchased a 100mb data pack on the weekend (for the month) for $12.00 Aud and got the Internet Connection Sharing working beautifully....this should have been included in the ROM along with Microsoft Voice Command 1.6...works a treat on my phone. I would like to see a ROM that included all the applications people were hoping for initially rather than the cutdown carrier version that AT&T released. I have built on my phone heaps since I got it. I find the ROM on the BJII to be very stable and much to my liking...if we could tweak the reception somewhat to get it to hang onto EDGE or GPRS when the 3G setting is weak that would be great....I hate the way my phone is always hunting or swapping for 3G...if the signal is weak I want whatever the best connection is at the time...not the weakest signal that would guarantee a dropped call but the most bars displayed..

I am sure lots of other things could be added to a ROM for this phone that would make it sing....I unfortunately have none of the skills required to make such a thing occur.

Actually the bluetooth stack for me is really good. I dont use bluetooth headphone's or anything else other than ICS over bluetooth and an in car bluetooth hands free...No unstable disconnections for me....in fact only one disconnect in 6 hours using ICS, re-initialised connection and all was good, no further disconnects...this used to be a big issue with my TYTN.

I have read of issue's with bluetooth headphones but as it works for me for the things I need I am not particularly educated on this issue. I am aware of a few threads regarding it so I would assume it's an ongoing problem. I dont use my device for music at all (as I have an IPOD touch) so it's a relatively low priority in it being fixed in a ROM for me...each to their own.

I would love to see the rom broken down so we could try to implament the cardwheel theme that everyone loves so much. And like others have said implament voice command, and the gps hack for others, and a few other tweaks.
